has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any manmade material in the world. On weight-to-weight base, it is up to 15 times stronger than steel. As an ingredient for aviation components such as ropes, cables, nets, fabrics and panels, Dyneema® helps to lower the weight of aircraft significantly. Compared to polyester, Nylon® or aluminum, the weight saving reaches typically 50 % for a given strength.
